Marco Sookthuan
Ceremonialist · Space Holder · Medicine Facilitator · Apu Guide
For several years, Marco supported Ayahuasca ceremonies as a space holder, learning how to remain grounded during intense processes, read the energy of a space and support people without interfering with their own journey.
Marco's Experience
Born in Switzerland with Thai roots, Marco grew up between different cultural influences and developed an early curiosity for different ways of seeing, living and experiencing life.

Marco’s path is rooted in presence, intuition and a deep curiosity about what it means to live consciously.

During Covid, he left Switzerland without knowing where the journey would lead. What began as a search for another way of living took him through five years in Mexico, into the Amazon, across Egypt and eventually to the Andes. Along the way, he encountered different traditions, sacred medicines and ways of understanding life — but perhaps more importantly, different ways of understanding himself.
His strongest gifts are presence, intuition, sensitivity and the ability to bring lightness into intense spaces.
Over the years, Marco has spent extensive time holding space in Ayahuasca ceremonies and other ceremonial settings. His role has never been about giving people answers, but about helping create an environment where they can reconnect with themselves.
His natural way is calm and intuitive.

He is sensitive to people, energy and atmosphere, while bringing humour and lightness into spaces that can sometimes become very intense. Music, scent, prayer, silence, nature and simple human presence are all part of the way he approaches ceremonial work.

His journey also led him into direct experience with traditional ceremonial and purification practices in the Mayan jungle and the Amazon, where he learned through participation, service and close connection with the people carrying these traditions.

His work is centred around creating the right conditions for people to slow down, reconnect and listen more deeply.

In Egypt, Marco explored another dimension of inner work through training in mediumship, energetic perception and spiritual communication. These experiences deepened his sensitivity to the unseen aspects of human experience and strengthened his understanding of presence, intuition and the importance of approaching spiritual work with humility and discernment.
Life experience
His journey has brought him into contact with different ancestral traditions and medicines across Mexico, the Amazon, Egypt and the Andes. Rather than identifying with one single tradition, Marco sees himself as a bridge between different worlds — always with respect for the cultures, people and places that have shaped his path.
Today, he lives in the Sacred Valley of Peru, where he is part of building Altum — a space centered around conscious community life, nature, inner exploration and meaningful human connection.

He also guides experiences in the Andes, creating space for people to connect with the mountains, the Apus, the land and themselves. For Marco, these journeys are not about escaping everyday life, but about remembering how deeply connected we already are.

For years, Marco searched for paradise in places — in the jungle, by the ocean, in ancient lands and sacred mountains. Today, he understands paradise differently: not as somewhere we arrive, but as something we create through the way we live, the people we choose to walk with, and the state of consciousness we bring into each moment.
Perhaps paradise was never a place. Perhaps it is a way of being.
